Here are a few of the coaches that we had the pleasure to work with.
Maciej Kaluza

Kontra Beach Volley head coach and founder. Maciek is an active player, competing both in top Polish tournaments and internationally. He won many medals in Polish Championship tournaments, as well as silver and bronze medals in the Polish Cup Finals. He plays for Poland in World Tour tournaments.
As a coach, he runs training in Warsaw for players of all levels – from beginners to high-level athletes.

Javier Bosma

One of the most successful Spanish beach volleyball players. His biggest achievement was a silver medal in the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. He teamed up with Pablo Herrera, who continues to compete at a high level. Javier was also a double silver medalist in European Championships in 1994 and 1999. He participated in a total of 3 Olympic Games. He was also the Champion of Spain two times. After he finished his career as a player he devoted himself to coaching. He is a former coach of the Spanish National Team under 21 and an FIVB-certified coach. 

Grzegorz Fijalek Kontra
Grzegorz Fijalek

Probably the best-known Polish beach volleyball player and the most titled one! Representing Poland for 15 consecutive years, he has played in more than 100 World Tour events winning a total of 17 medals! He is also a 2-times bronze medalist of the European Championships. Champion of Poland 5 times. From 2006 to 2016 he played in a team with Mariusz Prudel and then teamed up with Michal Bryl. On the court, he was known for his perfect technique and a very clever way of playing.

Martin Olejnak Kontra
Martin Olejnak

One of the most famous and respected beach volleyball coaches in the world. Former coach of the vice-champions of the world – the German team Thole/Wickler. Currently the coach of the Austrian national team. He has extensive experience in coaching both male and female teams. In the past, the coach of the Polish National players – among others Grzegorz Fijałek, Mariusz Prudel, Piotr Kantor, Bartosz Łosiak, Jakub Szałankiewicz, and Michał Kadziola. Previously, the coach of the Austrian Schwaiger sisters. He participated as a coach in the Olympic Games in Athens, Beijing, London, Rio, and Tokyo!

Kay Matysik

One of the most successful German beach volleyball players. Kay played for Germany for many years. He earned a bronze medal in the 2013 World Championships and was also a two-time European silver medalist. Following his career as a player, Kay transitioned into coaching, working with the German National Youth team as well as several world-class teams.

Christian Garcia

For many years, he played for the Spanish national team, winning medals in international competitions. He won the title of Spanish Champion three times. Currently, he runs his own Beach Volleyball Academy in Muchavista – Alicante. 

Julian Mituniewicz

Julian is with Kontra from the very first camp! He is a respected and well-liked coach, leading training sessions daily in Warsaw. He has also traveled to the USA, where he spent several months conducting training for American youth. 

Raul Mesa
Raul Mesa

Raul is one of the best Spanish players, representing Spain for many years in all major events. In 2005 he won the gold medal in the European Championships in Moscow. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. In his career he teamed-up with players like Pablo Herrera and Javier Bosma. Raul still competes in Spanish top beach volleyball league. 

Monika Brzostek

Monika is one of the most successful Polish beach volleyball players. For most of her career, she formed a team with Kinga Kolosińska. In her career, she won the Polish Champion title 7 times, the bronze at the European Championships and gold of the World Junior Championships. In 2016, she represented Poland at the Olympic Games in Rio.
